Reminder: No School Tomorrow - Friday, April 24th.

Edgemont Traffic Circle Reminder

Please be mindful when using the school traffic circle during drop-off to help keep all students safe.

Do not drop students in the middle of the circle. If the drop-off zone is full, please park in the lot. Use the outside lane only, pull all the way forward near the kindergarten doors, have children exit quickly, and then merge back into the center lane to exit.

We are also seeing several safety concerns:

  • Parking signs are not being followed.
  • Vehicles are being left unattended or parked in the “hug-and-go” zone.
  • Cars are stopping on both sides of the entrance aisle, blocking access.
  • Double parking in the circle is stopping traffic flow.
  • Vehicles are driving through the coned-off areas.

Supervision and soft entry begin at 900 a.m.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our families safe.

It appears as though Spring may be here to stay!

Our Grade 2's will be completing four days of Swimming this week and are excited for this new learning!  Thanks to all our volunteers who are giving of their time to our students!

We look forward to our School Council meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 in the Learning commons and I would encourage all parents/guardians to consider attending.

Wednesday is dress Hawaiian or Beach theme day - wear those colorful shorts, bright shirts etc  under your warmer clothes to get to school and have fun with this bright themed day!

I will be finishing my work as Acting Principal on Wednesday and want to extend my sincere thanks to all families, students and staff for your warm welcome to our wonderful school community!

Take care

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend and it appears our Spring has receded again!

Classes are busy with a variety of learning tasks and some of our Grade 4 classes were able to persevere and enjoyed an outstanding field trip this past Thursday to the Calgary Zoo!  Thanks to all our volunteers who helped make this day a great success!

Volunteers Needed

Our Grade 2’s are involved in their Swimming program next week 13 – 16 and thanks in advance to our volunteers for this event! We are still looking for male volunteers – if you have time to give please follow this link - volunteersignup.org/PYXET

Lockdown Drill

We appreciate the support of the Calgary Police Service in conducting our second required lockdown on April 7th.  These drills are important pieces of our safety and security plan.
